Maryborough is a city located in the Wide Bay-Burnett region of Queensland, Australia. It is situated on the Mary River, approximately 255km north of the state capital, Brisbane. The city is the commercial centre for the Fraser Coast Region and is renowned for its heritage listed sites and its natural beauty. The city has a population of approximately 27,000 people and is home to a number of attractions, including the Mary River National Park, the Mary River Walkway, the Maryborough Military and Colonial Museum, and the Maryborough Maritime Museum. The city is also home to a number of festivals and events, including the Maryborough Show, the Maryborough Music Festival, and the Maryborough Highland Gathering.
