The Essendon Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Melbourne, Victoria. The club was founded in 1873 and is one of the oldest and most successful clubs in the AFL. The club has won 16 VFL/AFL premierships, including four in a row from 1993 to 1996. The club plays its home matches at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and is nicknamed the Bombers. The club’s traditional guernsey colours are red and black.
