Doncaster is a large town in South Yorkshire, England. It is located on the River Don and is the traditional county town of the historic county of Yorkshire. The town has a population of around 109,805 and is the largest settlement in the borough of Doncaster. The town is known for its racecourse, Doncaster Racecourse, which hosts the St Leger Stakes, the oldest of the five British Classic horse races. Doncaster is also home to Doncaster Rovers Football Club, which plays in the Football League One. The town has a variety of attractions, including the Doncaster Dome, Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery, and the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Doncaster is also home to a number of shopping centres, including the Frenchgate Shopping Centre and the Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping Centre.
