Port Pirie is a city in South Australia. It is located on the eastern side of the Spencer Gulf, about halfway between Adelaide and Whyalla. The city has a population of around 14,000 people and is the largest city in the Mid North region of South Australia. The city is known for its port, which is the largest in the region and is a major export hub for grain, copper, and zinc. The city also has a strong manufacturing sector, with a number of large companies based in the area. The city is also home to a number of tourist attractions, including the National Trust-listed Port Pirie Regional Art Gallery, the Port Pirie Regional Museum, and the Port Pirie Regional Aquatic Centre.
