Frankston South is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the local government area of the City of Frankston. It is located about 40 km south-east of the Melbourne city centre, and is part of the Greater Melbourne metropolitan area. The suburb is bounded by the suburbs of Frankston North, Langwarrin, Seaford and Carrum Downs. It is a residential area, with a population of approximately 8,000 people. The suburb is home to a number of parks and reserves, including the Frankston South Recreation Reserve, which is a popular spot for picnics and barbecues. The suburb also has a number of schools, including Frankston High School, Frankston Primary School and Frankston South Primary School. The suburb is well serviced by public transport, with a number of bus routes running through the area, as well as a train station located at the Frankston South Shopping Centre.
