Docklands is an area of London, England, located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is situated on the north bank of the River Thames, in the east of the city. The area is made up of the former docks and wharves of the Port of London, along with modern office and residential developments. It is one of the most important business and financial centres in the UK, and is home to a number of major companies, including HSBC, Barclays, and the London Stock Exchange. The area is also home to a number of attractions, including the Museum of London Docklands, the O2 Arena, and the Emirates Air Line cable car.
