Muswellbrook is a town in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. It is located approximately 150 kilometres north of Sydney and is the administrative centre of the Muswellbrook Shire. The town is situated at the junction of the New England Highway and the Golden Highway. It is the largest town in the Upper Hunter Valley and is known for its coal mining, horse breeding and agriculture industries. The town has a population of approximately 10,000 people and is home to a number of attractions, including the Muswellbrook Racecourse, the Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre, the Muswellbrook Visitor Information Centre and the Muswellbrook Historical Museum.
