Werribee is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 32 km south-west of Melbourne’s Central Business District, located within the City of Wyndham local government area. Werribee is situated on the Werribee River, approximately halfway between Melbourne and Geelong, on the Princes Highway. It is the administrative centre of the City of Wyndham Local Government Area and is the City’s most populous centre. Werribee is a major regional centre for shopping, employment and education and is one of the fastest growing areas in Australia. It is home to the Werribee Open Range Zoo, the State Equestrian Centre, the National Equestrian Centre, the Victoria State Rose Garden, the Werribee Mansion and the Werribee Park Golf Club. The suburb has a large number of parks and reserves, including the Werribee River Park, the Werribee South Wetlands, the Werribee South Beach and the Werribee South Nature Conservation Reserve.
