Wallsend is a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, located approximately 12km from the Newcastle CBD. It is the administrative centre of the City of Newcastle and is home to a population of approximately 20,000 people. The suburb is known for its rich history, having been the site of coal mining and shipbuilding since the 19th century.
