Taylors Hill is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 22km north-west of Melbourne’s Central Business District, located within the City of Melton local government area. Taylors Hill recorded a population of 8,945 at the 2016 Census.
The suburb is bounded by the Calder Freeway in the north, the Melton Highway in the east, the Western Freeway in the south and the Sydenham railway line in the west.
History
The area was originally part of the parish of Keilor, and was known as Keilor North. The area was renamed Taylors Hill in the late 1990s.
The suburb was developed in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with the first land sales occurring in 1997.
Facilities
Taylors Hill is home to a shopping centre, which includes a Woolworths supermarket, a medical centre, a pharmacy, a bakery, a cafe, a fish and chip shop, a pizza shop, a hairdresser, a newsagent, a bottle shop and a post office.
The suburb also has a primary school, Taylors Hill Primary School, which opened in 2006.
