Sunbury is a borough in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 9,905 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Northumberland County. Sunbury is located along the east bank of the Susquehanna River, just downstream of the confluence of its main and west branches. It dates to the early 18th century and is the second-oldest incorporated town in Pennsylvania.

Sunbury is part of the Bloomsburg–Berwick metropolitan area, and is the central city in the Greater Susquehanna Valley region. It is the northernmost city in the state of Pennsylvania, and is located at the northern terminus of the Susquehanna Trail.

Sunbury is home to the Susquehanna Riverwalk, a pedestrian and bicycle path along the Susquehanna River. The city is also home to the Sunbury Historic District, which includes the Sunbury Historic District, the Sunbury Historic District, and the Sunbury Historic District. The city is also home to the Sunbury Arts Council, which hosts a variety of events throughout the year.
