Springvale South is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located 22 km south-east of Melbourne’s Central Business District, in the local government area of the City of Greater Dandenong. The suburb is bounded by the Princes Highway to the north, Springvale Road to the east, Corrigan Road to the south and the Springvale Cemetery to the west. At the 2016 Census, Springvale South had a population of 8,945.
The suburb is home to a large Vietnamese community, with many Vietnamese-owned businesses located along Springvale Road. The area is also home to a large number of Chinese and Indian immigrants. The suburb is served by a number of schools, including Springvale South Primary School, Springvale Secondary College and Springvale Learning Centre.
The area is well serviced by public transport, with a number of bus routes running through the suburb. The nearest train station is Springvale Station, located on the Pakenham line. The area is also close to the Monash Freeway, providing easy access to the city and other suburbs.
