Clayton South is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located 22 km south-east of Melbourne’s Central Business District, in the local government area of the City of Kingston. It is bounded by the suburbs of Mulgrave, Notting Hill, Clarinda, and Springvale South. At the 2016 Census, Clayton South had a population of 8,945.
The suburb is mainly residential, with some industrial areas in the south. It is home to the Monash Medical Centre, a major hospital in the south-east of Melbourne. The suburb is served by the Clayton railway station, located on the Pakenham and Cranbourne railway lines. The main shopping centre is the Clayton South Shopping Centre, located on the corner of Clayton Road and Centre Road.
Clayton South is home to a number of parks and reserves, including the Clayton South Reserve, the Clayton South Recreation Reserve, and the Clayton South Community Park. The suburb also has a number of sporting clubs, including the Clayton South Football Club, the Clayton South Cricket Club, and the Clayton South Tennis Club.
